“I got the name Sweet Paul from my Godmother Tove. It was always Sweet Paul this and Sweet Paul that… It stuck.”
Paul Lowe aka Sweet Paul was born in Oslo Norway where he grew up crafting and cooking with his Mormor and Great Aunt. Every day was a new adventure that would create chocolate cakes, fish cakes and meatballs for the family table.
Even as a young kid he had his own knife, his own cutting board and a favorite mixing spoon that no one else was allowed to touch. His love of cooking and crafting all stems from his childhood.
He grew up to work as a florist in Oslo, with the Royal Family as clients, before starting a career in Food and Prop Styling. He first worked in Norway and then his work would take him all over Europe before settling in the US.
In the US he worked with magazines like Country Living, Vogue, ELLE, Cosmo, Real Simple and many more as well as styling books and advertising.
He started Sweet Paul Magazine in the spring of 2010, first as an online magazine, but it quickly grew into a printed publication that sold all over the world.
Today he lives in Palm Springs, CA with his husband James and 3 dogs where he spends most of his time in his studio making ceramics.
